Artist: Jacqueline Ryan
Year:2012
Jacqueline Ryan’s creations are profoundly influenced by nature and its intricate details. She finds inspiration in the growth patterns of plants and other living organisms, crafting her pieces to reflect these exquisite natural miniatures. After undergoing a series of abstract transformations, her designs are first shaped into miniature sculptural paper models and subsequently cast in gold. Many of Jacqueline’s works feature movable elements that tremble or vibrate in response to the wearer’s movements. She considers her jewelry to be wearable art, believing that the interaction between the piece and its wearer not only enlivens the work but also fully realizes its artistic value.
My project shares a clear affinity with Jacqueline Ryan’s works, particularly in the dynamic relationship between the wearer and the piece. I emphasize modular design, exploring the potential of form and structure through repetition and combination. My designs are innovative, incorporating movable or adjustable elements that allow the pieces to transform flexibly, from jewelry to garments, and even decorative art. This adaptability not only enhances the practicality and wearability of my creations but also deepens their artistic impact. As the pieces move with the wearer, they vividly fulfill their artistic function, offering a lively demonstration of interaction and complementarity.

It’s kind of like light bulbs.
I do love flowers~
The play of light and shadow through the mobile cones adds a dynamic element that truly sets this piece apart. It’s a brilliant exploration of form and function in jewellery design.
